General Carey has over thirty years of Strategic Management experience focused on Nuclear and Space Operations in organizations ranging in size from 500 to 9600 personnel. He has extensive expertise in strategic communication plans and public roll-out engagement strategies for sensitive defense issues.
As Commander of 20th Air Force and STRATCOM Task Force-214, Mike planned and executed modernization, sustainment, and operation of 450 ICBMs and 3 ICBM wings. He planned and oversaw treaty-required weapons reductions across the force ahead of schedule while mitigating infrastructure and troubled acquisition programs successfully. As Deputy Director, C2 and Nuclear Operations (J-36), The Joint Staff, Mike led Distributed Command and Control Node development resulting in survivable national command centers distributed across the United States. While serving as Deputy Director for Global Operations (DJ-3), USSTRATCOM, he executed flight duties as Airborne Emergency Action Officer instructor and evaluator for USSTRATCOM’s airborne strategic command post mission equipped with an airborne launch control system. Additionally, Mike forged and led the STRATCOM Forward Integration Team in Afghanistan.
Upon completing military service of 34 years, Mike has held executive positions with two firms in the commercial space industry with expertise in nano-satellite technology and modern ground network solutions.
