Carol Welsch

Carol Welsch is the CEO and Founder of Creative Research Consulting, LLC.

Carol retired from the Air Force at the rank of Colonel in 2013.  Her 24-year Air Force career included a diverse set of leadership positions in space acquisition, space operations, flight test, and strategic intelligence.  Carol’s career culminated in leading the Air Force’s Space and Missiles Systems Center’s Space Development and Test Directorate and directing the Depart of Defense’s Space Test Program, which demonstrates new technology using small spacecraft platforms, both at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico.

Prior to founding CRC Consulting in 2021, Carol served as Senior Director of Business Development at Northrop Grumman’s Tactical Space Systems Division and its heritage Orbital Sciences and Orbital ATK companies. In this role, she led business development efforts for National Security Space programs with a focus on innovative small satellite programs and rideshare platforms.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, followed by a Masters of Science Degree in Aerospace Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. She holds a Masters of Strategic Studies at the Air War College.
