Dr. Rebecca Reesman is a national security space professional whose career spans the technical, policy, and strategic dimensions of the U.S. defense space enterprise. She has worked across Congress, the Department of Defense, and two FFRDCs, bringing a rare ability to impose structure on complex problems, identify what truly matters, and translate ambiguity into clear, actionable guidance for senior leaders. Across her roles, Reesman has built a reputation for analytical rigor, strategic clarity, and the ability to navigate the intersection of technology, policy, and organizational dynamics.
During her tenure in the Department of Defense, she led the development of the 2024 DoD Commercial Space Integration Strategy, shaping how the Department approaches commercial integration.
In addition to advising senior leadership, she was trusted to lead interagency coordination and brief international partners on emerging space issues.
Reesman holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and statistics from Carnegie Mellon University and a Ph.D. in physics from The Ohio State University.
