Chuck Destefani

Retired Air Force Colonel Chuck Destefani is now an Executive and Technology Advisor to the Life Cycle Management Center through HumanIT, LLC.  He orchestrates priorities across the program’s Execution, Development, Test, Cyber, and Operations Product Teams. Prior to this assignment, he served as a full-time Colonel in Air Force Reserves as the Deputy Chief Data Officer, Chief Architect, and Wright-Patterson Liaison for the Department of the Air Force Chief Data Office (SAF/CO).  There he delivered innovative, cloud-hosted data analytics capabilities delivering Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to the warfighting communities. His work enabled analytics initiatives in the Logistics, Intelligence, AFIT, and PEOs under the Life Cycle Management Center.  His 31-year IT background includes military experience on active duty and reserve assignments in Command, Wing, and the National Capital Region, and commercial experiences such as Director of Global Infrastructure for Campbell Soup Company, and project work focused Software Development, Systems Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture across companies like Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, and now HumanIT Solutions.   

Colonel Destefani lives in Sugarcreek Township with his wife, Carolyn, of 36 years, who has been a Sugarcreek Township Trustee since 2016.  When not working they enjoy traveling and taking advantage of the many outdoor activities in the area like kayaking on the Little Miami River, riding the bike trails, or rucking at the many municipal, county, and state parks.  

Colonel Destefani looks back with gratitude on a career in the AF Reserves that gave him the opportunity to serve our great nation while maintaining residence in Sugarcreek, Ohio.  He served as a Unit Commander in Biloxi, MS and at Wright-Patterson, and held Air Staff positions at the Pentagon and at Fort Meade, all the while traveling to his various units to serve.  He had the unique opportunity to have the best of both worlds – a military career that was synergistic with his professional IT development and the chance to provide a stable family environment so his children could go through the local Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools.
